Free.Get all the latest Pasadena news, more than 10 fresh stories daily, 7 days a week at 7 a.m. Securitas is aiming to hire 1,200 new security officers in Pasadena and other cities in Southern California — part of a push to bring on 10,000 more employees nationwide, the company said.Securitas VP of Human Resources for the Pacific Region, Kimberly Carson, says a virtual career fair will be held Thursday, and drive-thru hiring fairs will take place May 26.She says Securitas is looking for 50 to 75 people to fill positions in and near Pasadena. Carson says the company has several hundred people already working in Pasadena at locations such as high-rise buildings and hospitals, and some contracted services with Los Angeles County.“The very basic minimum hiring standards are you have to be at least 18, you have to either hold or be eligible to get a state of California security guard license … and be willing to participate in our screening requirements, such as background check, drug screen, that sort of thing,” Carson said.As for the health and safety of Securitas security officers during the COVID-19 pandemic, Carson told Pasadena Now “it’s a site by site analysis that’s done in conjunction with the client to determine what is needed per the CDC guidelines, and then we implement accordingly.”In addition to Pasadena, Carson says Securitas has needs in more than 30 California cities and areas.The company’s virtual career fair will be held Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Anyone interested in scheduling an interview should text “attend” to 844-980-3282.Drive-thru career fairs will be held May 26 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the following Southern California locations (each will be hiring for jobs in nearby cities):• 2099 S. (July 22) – Trevor Smith made the 2-1/2 hour trek to Arlington Raceway pay off, leading all 15 laps of Saturday’s 95.7 the Rock IMCA RaceSaver Sprint car feature for his career-first win in the division.It was a proud moment for his father Jim, who was track champion in 1988 at Arlington, where he motored his no. 33s sprint car around the ½-mile and picked up his own first feature win 29 years ago.Brian Loscheider picked up an extra bounty of $50 by ending Cory Probst’s streak of 10 Premier Logistics IMCA Hobby Stock wins in as many events.Dave Moriarty ran three-wide with Brad Lange and Matt Speckman before taking the B & B Racing Chassis IMCA Stock Car win by a margin measured in inches. Jeff Lloyd topped the Unhinged Pizza IMCA Northern SportMod main.Tyler Limoges led every lap of the Minnesota 93 IMCA Modified feature while Ryan Bryant was the third and final Coors Light IMCA Sport Compact leader.
