This weekend at the seventh annual Thunder Bay International Film Festival, the second volume debuts with episode 1.Filmmaker Zach Irving created the series. This week, he’s putting his finishing touches on volume 2 of Michigan Micro Adventures. Since Volume 1, a lot has changed in terms of equipment and capturing of the episodes.“We updated our equipment,” said Irving. “Things are a lot more polished off in this season, and we had more of an idea of where we were going with these episodes.”Irving would often utilize his camera, drone, and slider to capture shots of the subject, nature, and miscellaneous items.Episode 1 of volume 2 opens with Gary and Eli (Zach’s father and brother) in the summertime, snorkeling over a piece of history.“Each episode caters to each season that Michigan sees, so it caters to an adventure you can do in each season,” said Irving. The filmmaker has poured in over 300 hours to the project. He’s acquired the help of 15 different artists from the ‘Sunrise Side’ to make his vision a reality, a reality that has been years in the making.“I grew up as a daydreamer, and I was always that kid in class, just looking off out the window, not even thinking about what I was looking at,” said Irving. “I had a story in my mind at all times.”Catch the first episode of volume two on Sunday afternoon at the Thunder Bay International Film Festival. Irving plans to release the full volume in the spring.AddThis Sharing ButtonsShare to FacebookFacebookShare to TwitterTwitterShare to MoreAddThis Tags: 2019 Thunder Bay International Film Festival, Behind the Lens, Drones, Editing, film festival, Filmmaking, History, Michigan Micro Adventures, Michigan Micro Adventures Volume 2, northeast michiganContinue ReadingPrevious Photo of the Day for Tuesday, January 23Next Organizations in Alpena band together to help local federal employees during shutdownlast_img
